Great Sand Sculpture Contest – Sat Aug 9 2008 – 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Granada Beach (Granada & Ocean, Belmont Shore)

Join the Long Beach Jr Chamber and Alfredo’s Beach Club and show your creative side. Friday, we help Long Beach Parks & Rec bring 900 students to Youth Beach Day, a day of fun-filled activities, sand castle building, and food. Saturday, you can flex your own creative muscle by building your own Sand Castle.  Your support helps bring Long Beach youth out for a fun day at the beach and to support the Long Beach Junior Chamber contribute to the community with such programs as Children's Shopping Spree, Adopt-A-Teacher, and more.

14th Annual Children’s Shopping Spree

Sat Aug 16, 2008 7:00 AM - The City Place – Downtown LB

Let’s go shop!  Every year the Long Beach Junior Chamber, business partners, and community groups work together to take our city’s underprivileged children shopping for basic school clothes and supplies. Each child is matched with a volunteer and taken on a shopping spree to purchase school clothes, shoes and supplies.  In addition to shopping, the experience this year includes breakfast at Hometown Buffet as well as arts and crafts in the Playground area. The per child donation amount starts at $100. Sponsors have several options to take 5 – 30 children shopping this year.
